In order to keep drivers safe on the road, AutoFocus has prepared some winter vehicle safety tips to help you out. Although you may feel like snow isn't a big deal, as it turns out, a fresh blanket of the white stuff can have a big impact on your car. By abiding by some of these tips you can stay safe and certain on the road.
One of the biggest factors in a car accident is visibility. That's why it's important to ensure that your windshield wipers and wiper fluid are all ready to go. To ensure the utmost safety and success, you can spend a few dollars on winter wiper blades and new windshield wiper fluid because being able to see what's coming your way from a distance can save your life.
Secondly, you want to ensure that your tires, and thus your car, are functioning to their best ability. To do this you should make sure your tires are properly inflated, as the outside temperature can have a huge impact on whether your tires are under inflated, over inflated or just right. Another tip is to look over your owner's manual for the correct tire pressure, as tire pressure is actually specific to the vehicle you're driving and not the kind of tire you're using.
Lastly, you should be sure to pack an emergency safety kit in your car as you'll never know when you'll be snowed in or off the road. Having some essential tools on hand will help you out big time when you're in a bind. Suggested items to have in your emergency kit include a flashlight, extra batteries, water, blankets, an ice scraper/ snowbrush, flares, and a shovel.
AutoFocus located at 5316 West Market St. in Greensboro, NC hopes that you'll stay safe this winter and wishes you the best this holiday season.
