If you are looking for a classic W123 chassis Diesel Mercedes in excellent condition, you have found it. We have had some very nice examples over the last 20 years, but this 300D is the best one. It is a clean, garaged, maintained, two owner, low mileage, Southern car that was purchased new here in Greensboro at Jack Pickard Imports, our previous Mercedes dealership. This car runs and drives fantastic. Everything works. It is totally stock including the radio. There is no rust and both the interior and exterior show minimal wear for the age. We do know that the hood and tops of the front fenders have been repainted, probably in 1994 when the car encountered an animal in the road. Two items are missing from the the car, the left rear floor mat and the owner's manual, otherwise it is complete. We love the color scheme of Pastel/Taiga Beige with the beige MB Tex interior. This 300D has standard US model equipment, sunroof, cruise control, power windows, central locking etc. For folks who know these cars, yes the vacuum system is intact and the central locking works. Yes, the a/c has been converted and works. Yes, the cruise control works. Yes, the radio and power antenna work. These cars are well known for their safety, reliability, durability and longevity. They are simply excellent cars. And while most have 200k++ miles and still function fine, this one with 64k miles drives great and will be an opportunity for someone to get a super nice car. Our service in preparation for sale included servicing the power steering (fluid & filter), cleaning & painting the battery tray which is in good condition, new thermostat & fresh coolant, new cruise control amplifier and just a general going over. In November, we replaced the steering tie rods, had an alignment performed, repaired the throttle linkage, painted the wheels and had the car detailed. No additional service is recommended at this time. Note that due to the model year, this Mercedes is exempt from inspection.
